Long Envelope Mini

This is a little long envelope mini album I made today in the time out that I put myself in. (I have a 4 & 2 yr old. If you have kids, that's enough said, right?!?!)

So here is my little album:
I followed a tutorial from Laura Denesin from "Follow the Paper Trail" on YouTube. She is so creative and inspiring, so easy to follow & has lots of fantastic videos on her channel "Follow the Paper Trail".
I made it with 6 #9 envelopes that I got from Hobby Lobby. Their kraft envelopes are by far the strongest that I have come across.

I used a Nursery Rhyme paper stack that a friend gave me a while back. My 4 yr old confiscated this album and stuck a few stickers in there. I'm not sure what she will use it for. The albums are pretty quick and easy to make so I'm sure I'll make another one soon.

Here are a couple of pictures of the inside. There is a pocket page on the left and a longer pocket page on the right with a flap. It has a chipboard cover and a duck tape spine.

I stuck some tags in the pockets & like I said, my little girl stuck on some stickers.

I hope you like my little mini. I think they are darling!

Next, I'm going to try Laura's split paper bag mini album. Check her out on YouTube if you want to try the tutorial for yourself. She is definitely one of my favs.

Thanks for viewing!

Blessings,

Christmas Mini Album

This is the 2nd mini album that I designed and made by myself. I had inspiration from several fabulous designers, of course, but did this one solo! I hope you like it.

It's an 8x8 album & I haven't titled it yet. I kinda like the simple front cover though.
(Excuse my thumb in there 👍)

So, you open it up;
And this is the front cover. It's a little book I made out of envelopes.
And then, here is the 1st page:
The flap is held together with a magnet. It opens and there is a pocket on the inside. All of the pages are pocket pages and contain a large photo mat.
Here are the next couple of pages:
And next, I made this gate fold page that contains a waterfall feature:
The next page has a fold out that is held together with a ribbon:
When you open it up, there is also an inside pocket with a large photo mat.
Here are the next couple of pages:
There is a pocket on the left side. I put hinges on it so it can hold more.
This page is pretty cool. I cut it so the Santa scene would show. Almost all of the paper I used was an older DCWV "Heirloom Christmas Stack". I had the K & Co. embellishment "it's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" & it ended up looking perfect on there, I think.
Tag and pocket page.
And the last page has a pocket:
I have not done anything with the back inside cover page and have left the back of the album pretty plain as well.
The spine is a smooth velvety paper I found in my stash that I love.

I made the pages with craft card stock. The cover is rather lightweight chipboard. I think if I make another one, I will use a heavier weight.

I hope you enjoyed perusing my album. Sorry about the pics being so unprofessional but you gotta start somewhere, right?! So I'm starting with my camera on my phone in my room. 😀

Feel free to leave me a nice comment or if you have any questions, I will be happy to try and answer them. If you have something negative to say, you picked the wrong blog - keep surfin - cause life is too short to criticize someone's art and creativity.

Thanks for viewing and have a blessed day!

That's what I'm doin these days

This is an album I made for my sister. I followed the tutorial from Cassie Keith on You Tube. It is made of envelopes from Hobby Lobby (by far, the strongest and best) and DCWV Christmas Made paper pack.
I used a pack of K&Company dye cuts to embellish it a bit. It is distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo - one of my favs!
I made the snowflakes with a punch and put a pearl in them. See how functional these minis are!!

I love making these envelope mini albums. I hope my little sis enjoys this one!!

Stay tuned - more projects to come!

Here we go

Well HI!  I'm finally putting together a blog to try to showcase my work as the mini album diva that I am!  When I say "diva", by no means do I mean it in a superior sense or way.  I just can't get enough of them!!  I am new to this, so the first few blogs may be a little off but I promise I will get the hang of it.

A little about me
I have been making scrapbooks since before I even knew it was a "thing".  (Maybe it wasn't back then, I haven't actually researched it.)  As I sit here with my awesome cup of coffee, brought to me by my man, I am reflecting on exactly why I love doing what I do, which is making mini albums.  I have always loved pictures.  Always.  I love taking them, being in them, editing them; I just love photography!  And then there is my love of paper!!  I love love love paper!!!  I have always loved school/office supplies, like notebooks, folders, pens, & mechanical pencils.  When I found scrapbooking supplies, oh my gosh, I just was over the moon excited!  I could spend (and do when I can) hours in just those 4 or 5 isles in Hobby Lobby or Michael's.  Oh, the possibilities of what you can do with all of the different choices of paper are endless!!!  And the creativity that I get to see now by the power of the internet and my new best friend, Pinterest, is just so ridiculously inspiring!!

If you can't tell by my excessive use of exclamation marks that I love paper crafting, well then, just keep following me and you will see.  This weekend, I finished an album that I was making to put my daughter's VPK stuff in.  I will be posting pictures of it soon.  It is a vertical paper bag mini album.  I followed the tutorial from Ginger, My Sister Scrapper http://mysistersscrapper.com.  I found her on YouTube and there is not a project that she has done that I don't like.  She is incredible.  She is definitely one of my favorites.  A couple of my other favorites include Kathy Orta of Paper Phenomenon http://www.paperphenomenon.blogspot.com and Cassie Keith www.youtube.com/user/cassmay53able.  They all have amazing ideas and creations and very doable projects and tutorials.

Last night, I used my 1st design to make a book.  I am decorating it now and may put it up if it turns out good.  We'll see.  I have a lot of mini's to display.  Most of them are for sale...that whole thing is in the works too.  I'm a work in progress, what can I say.  Thanks for visiting and stay tuned!  Have a happy and a healthy December 2nd.
